A Welsh pub has picked up the title Best Family Pub thanks to its very special added attraction.
The Pen y Cae Inn in the Brecon Beacons has received the accolade in the Great British Pub Awards thanks to the free micro zoo which is based it its garden.
Awarded its full zoo licence in June 2015, the Pen y Cae Inn has and has a range of animals
that have been rescued and re-housed from all over the UK, including meerkats, wallabies, pygmy goats, ornamental waterfowl, Japanese cranes.
Owners of the Pen y Cae Inn, Claire and Anthony Christopher, have run the pub since 2005 and said picking up the award was a “proud moment” for them.
