NEWS: Rapeseed Oil Producer Marks 10 years in Business with 10 Competitions

A Thixendale based rapeseed oil producer is celebrating its tenth anniversary by launching the second of 10 competitions that will run throughout 2018.

To help the artisan oil producer to celebrate its special anniversary, the team at The Great Yorkshire Show, is offering a family ticket worth £75 to this year’s landmark show.

The 160th Great Yorkshire Show takes place from Tuesday July 10th to Thursday July 12th at Harrogate’s Great Yorkshire Showground and Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s Facebook followers have until 25th March to be in with a chance of winning the prize for two adults and up to three children.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s marketing manager, Jennie Palmer said that they are delighted to mark their anniversary year with a prize to visit one of the biggest agricultural shows in the UK.

“We think that our tenth anniversary is an amazing achievement, so goodness knows how the team at GYS feel to have put on 160 shows over 180 years! We’re very grateful for their generosity and look forward to announcing the winner on 26th March.”

Charles Mills, Show Director said: “The 160th show promises to be bigger and better than ever, with equestrian dynamo, Lorenzo entertaining the crowd in the Main Ring with his daredevil bare-back display, Rosemary Shrager whipping up a storm in the cookery theatre and the President’s Lawn showcasing some very special additions for the first time ever.”

To enter the competition, simply like and share Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s competition post and tag who you’d most like to accompany you.

The three day Great Yorkshire Show attracts over 130,000 visitors and 8,500 animals and is one of the biggest agricultural shows in the UK.

The first Great Yorkshire Show was held in 1838 at the Barrack Yard of the 5th Dragoons at Fulford, near York and spent many years as a ‘roaming’ show at venues throughout Yorkshire before moving to its current 200 acre site in 1951. 2012 marked the first ever show to be cancelled due to weather after unprecedented rainfall on the first day.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil was established in 2008 by Adam and Jennie Palmer on their farm in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds.  They now produce a range of oils, dressings and mayonnaise based on their award-winning rapeseed oil that is produced exclusively from home. Their Yorkshire Wolds grown rape is pressed, blended, bottled and labelled on the family farm.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil products are available online at www.yorkshirerapeseedoil.co.uk, and from farmers’ markets, farm shops, delis and independent retailers throughout Yorkshire and food festivals and selected retailers nationwide.
